Arles - St Maries de la mer

One day around two cities of the Camargue region. Discovery of its capital Arles with its roman heritage unique in France and stqrting point of the St.Jack de Compostela's pilgrinage. This city influenced lots of artists like the famous painter Van Gogh who has drown several masterpieces here.

St Maries and its roman fortified church was usual step of pilgrinage along the way to St. Jack of Compostela.


PROGRAM:

Leaving: 9am

Morning : Seesighting of the Arles center and visit of the amphitheatre and of the roman theatre. Later visit of the church and the closter of  Saint-Trophîme, step on the St Jack of Compostela's road. Leisure time in the city (saturday morning possibility to take a look at the provencial market)


Midday : possibility to have lunch in a restaurant tasting regional specialities such as Arles sausage and beef casserole. (menu from 15 euros)


After lunch: Visit of  St Maries de la mer and its roman fortified church of the XI century. Pilgrims came
Fin d'après-midi: Tasting of wine rosé of "sables" and bull sausages.

Return: 6.30pm
